3rd.inst.,368 strikere were found and detained at the junction of
the Loung Seung valley and the Taipe Road, I presume they spent the
night on the hill. They were detained and marched back te Talpe

seperate intimations that a gathering was going to take place. One
conversation pat the number at 2000. The crowd was to move out of
Younati overland to the border, Piret I instructed the Divisional
Inspecter at Tamanti to hava detectives out and to keep me fully
posted as to any such assemblage or movement. At 11.45 p.4. I
accompanied Captain Blexham and Captain Crawford and 50 men of the
10204 Grenadiers to the junction of the Castle Peak and Taipo reads.
I posted them thera with instructions to stop any such crowd and te
cemunionte with me at once. I also posted a Sub-Inspecter of Police
to the detachment, Mr.Melfurray,who lives in the house at this
